Review of the assessment process for internationally trained Physiotherapists

The Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC) commissioned a project to review the assessment process used for international graduates or practitioners in Physiotherapy that enables registration in Australia.

We undertook a focussed literature review, analysed the assessment process and consulted key stakeholders involved in the process. A set of recommendations for change to their written component, clinical component and quality assurance processes along with a consideration of alternative pathways were made. This work has provided APC with a framework for reform of the assessment process.
